Missing software
Missing software

Re: Missing software
Lots of packages from contrib are rebuilding at the moment. Please wait a little until they become available in repos.

Or you can use Dolphin TWO panel by press F3.
Re: Missing software
For file management I prefer keyboard. Old schoolPastorDi писал(а):Or you can use Dolphin TWO panel by press F3.

So Krusader is quite good compromise between midnight commander and mentioned dolphin (for example).
Re: Missing software
I've just registered to thank ROSA for your great job...and to say that I use krusader for exactly the same reasons in any KDE desktop that I have to manage.
There are a few other apps that I miss too, like powertop (to check & save energy, really useful in a laptop) or htop, but mostly the whole system is a piece of art, very friendly and usable.Congratulations.

Re: Missing software
Htop is present in the repository. You can install it with the command:kifto писал(а):There are a few other apps that I miss too, like powertop (to check & save energy, really useful in a laptop) or htop, but mostly the whole system is a piece of art, very friendly and usable.Congratulations.

Re: Missing software
that's true, I don't know why I mentioned it, because I even got it already installed, I've had a lapsus with another package. Thamks

Re: Missing software
I would also like to see Synapse and nano packages added to the repositories. Synapse is an application launcher, and the project page is located at:
https://launchpad.net/synapse-project
Nano, as most of you probably know, is a CLI text editor. The project page is located at: http://www.nano-editor.org/
Thanks!

Re: Missing software
You can install nano from Contrib/Updates repository. Just enable Contrib/Updates via checkbox in "Install and remove software" application.captain_america писал(а):Nano, as most of you probably know, is a CLI text editor. The project page is located at: http://www.nano-editor.org/
It's not the latest stable nano, but I guess 2.2.4 should be fine anyway.

Re: Missing software
I guess you need to add bug-report for it in bugzilla: http://bugs.rosalinux.ru/captain_america писал(а):I would also like to see Synapse and nano packages added to the repositories. Synapse is an application launcher, and the project page is located at:

Something like "[PACKAGE REQUEST] Synapse". I'll assign it to myself to make sure I won't forget about it when I have some free time to add new packages

Re: Missing software
Pulfer,
Many thanks for your help and reply! Nano 2.2.4 will work just fine. As per your instructions, I have filed a bug report for the package request of Synapse launcher.

Re: Missing software
After some investigations I found that Synapse requires at least Vala 0.14. While we have 0.12 in Rosa 2012 LTS (and I see in changelog that Vala was reverted back to 0.12 due to some stability issues). I cannot say for sure if it's possible to update Vala, I need to discuss it with other developers.captain_america писал(а):Pulfer,

Re: Missing software
Thanks Pulfer! I understand if it is not possible to update Vala, especially where stability is a major concern for an enterprise and LTS distro. I can live without Synapse, but it would have been nice to have it in the repos. After some investigations I found that Synapse requires at least Vala 0.14. Re: Missing software
Meanwhile I prepared all necessary updates. If they pass QA and security validation, we'll have Synapse in 2012 LTS repos.captain_america писал(а):Thanks Pulfer! As for Rosa 2012.1 (aka Desktop), I already added Synapse to repositories. So when 2012.1 is released, Synapse will be there in Contrib.
