VMWare virtualization with Kernel 3.19
With the current VMWare 11 / VMPlayer 7:
VMWare can NOT work with Kernels greater than LTS 3.18, so it requires some unofficial patching ;-(
Here is the solution for the current VMWare with a kernel 3.19:
You must replace a file before VMWare can build its modules.
- Download and Save our fixed source file:
http://mib.pianetalinux.org/MIB/rosa2014.1/vmnet.tar
- GoTo :
Destination path is > /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
and make a security backup of this folder or of files
- Copy/Replace original file with our one vmnet.tar to:
Destination path is > /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
Now VMWare can rebuild successfully all its modules!
