Как именно ставите? Насколько я вижу, там надо сначала su, потом ./install.sh.

Если терминал супротивляется,то войти в свойства ./install.sh и выставить в правах "...выполняемым"
Должно пойти. или ссылку на драйвер,скачаю_подскажу конкретнее.

открой в долфине папку с драйвером, нажми F4(терминал выедет) и возьми рут через su, потом дай команду ./install.sh и смотри что скажет.

вообще по принтерам могу сказать точно только одно. самая лучшая и качественная поддержка у HP. это было 10 лет назад и сейчас это остается так. я например давно не покупаю принтеров других компаний , только HP. и проблем нет ни с одним. а у меня сменилось уже 3 поколения. но в данном случае ничего не скажу. наверняка драйвер не дописаный.

Убунтовцы писали что у кого то работал этот принтер с его дровами, а у кого то нет и они ставили дрова от ml 2580
Попробовал из консоли установить дрова все прошло, проверить работают или нет, это уже вам.

RENTAL

3.      COPYRIGHT. 
The SOFTWARE PRODUCT is protected by copyright laws and international copyright treaties, as well as other intel
lectual property laws and treaties that are relevant to your use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. All title and copyrigh
ts in and to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT (including but not limited to any images, photographs, animations, video, audi
o, music, text, and "applets" incorporated into the SOFTWARE PRODUCT) are owned by SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS. 

MARKING AND MAINTENANCE OF COPYRIGHT You may not remove or change the marking of the copyright from the SOFTWARE
 PRODUCT and all of its copies.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS All titles and copyrights in and of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and any copies of the SOFT
WARE PRODUCT are owned by SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS or its suppliers.  All title and intellectual property rights in a

4.      TRANSFER
To the extend permitted by the laws of your permanent residence, you may transfer this license and your original

1) the other person/legal entity receives a copy of this Agreement or other applicable Samsung Software License 
Agreement and agrees to be bound by its terms and conditions; (2) you erase or destroy all copies of the SOFTWAR

5.      WARRANTIES AND SUPPORT
SUPPORT: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS may provide you with product support related to the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. You may use a
nd receive the support in accordance with the user guide, "online" documentation or the SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS' pol
icies and programs stipulated in the materials provided by SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS.  Any third party software that i
s provided to you as part of the SAMSUNG devices shall be subject to terms and conditions of the third party, an
d support for such third party software products shall be subject to the support for such third party software m
ade available and provided by the third party. SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS does not have any support obligations for suc
h third party software products.

7.      CONSENT TO USE OF DATA
SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS may collect and use technical information you provide in relation to your installation and u

ation will be subject to SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS’ privacy policy. 

8.      TERMINATION
Without prejudice to any other rights, SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS may terminate this EULA or your rights under this EUL
A at any time if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this EULA. Upon termination of your rights 
under this EULA for any reason, or upon termination of the EULA itself, you must destroy all copies of the SOFTW
ARE PRODUCT and all of its component parts in your possession (including all component parts, the media and prin
ted materials, any prior versions, and this EULA). The terms of this paragraph shall survive any termination of 
this EULA. 

9.      LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
You are solely and entirely liable for the performance or results you may obtain by using the SOFTWARE PRODUCT a
nd SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS shall not be liable for losses arising from your use of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT and for any 
losses arising from your inability to use the SOFTWARE PRODUCT. 
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SAMSUNG OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY

я только не понимаю почему он без консоли не устанавливается. странно

Чем вам консоль не нравиться? Вам и Самсунг дал рекомендации с консолью.
Я всегда .sh файлы в консоли запускаю не заморачиваясь.

эт понятно что теперь придется с консоли ставить раз по другому не работает.

объясняю для "непродвинутых" )) установка драйверов это вам не программку поставить(хотя и тут есть ограничения) , это установка модуля , который будет грузиться ядром при запуске и вот тут и стоят ограниченияна обычного пользователя. короче только админ имеет право творить с системой что ему вздумается. а .sh файлы это не программы, а скрипты запуска, которые написаны на скриптовом языке используемом в bash. а этот язык тесно связан с с одноименной оболочкой . поэтому запустить скрипт bash из терминала это само собой разумеющееся в линукс. нет конечно можно помудрить и в графике, но зачем идти длинным путем, когда одна команда решает все проблемы.

У меня нет под рукой принтера прямо сейчас, но вы явно делаете не то. Установка принтера через графический интерфейс предполагает, что драйвер уже есть в базе CUPS.
Вам нужно сначала установить драйвер, выполнив из командной строки указанный выше скрипт. Он поставит сам PPD-файл и ещё какие-то библиотеки, без которых принтер, имхо, не заведётся. Возможно, что скрипт сам добавит в систему принтер, так что стандартный графический интерфейс вам и не потребуется.

Хотя,если разобраться по уму,а не по глупости,то линукс ну "очень прост" в использовании.
