[Solved] 2012.1: disappearing text after scrolling LibreOffi

I think the subject line says it. Using a fully updated 2012.1 Beta, when I open a document in LO Writer, scroll down the page and then scroll up again, I find that text has disappeared -- not all of the text, but large sections, multiple lines, or whole paragraphs. I can click in the area where text should be, and the text magically appears again.

Anyone else having that experience? I have an ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4650 video card with the proprietary driver installed (which I hoped would solve the problem).

This is known error with X-Server 13 and free radeon driver. If you has ATI/AMD card please install package

x11-driver-video-fix

Thanks very much for the help. I installed the package, but the problem persists. I suppose that over time this issue will be resolved, but for now I encounter this issue only in ROSA and Mageia Cauldron.

It is because I had the proprietary driver installed. As you said, x11-driver-video-fix works with the free radeon driver. Problem solved.

Semi strange that you card may work with proprietary fglrx - AMD drop support with XServer 13 card < 5xxxx

Yes, I saw that some time ago, and I expected to have trouble after installing the proprietary driver. I now have a new installation of the 2012.1 RC, did nothing to change the default X11, and installed X11-driver-video-fix. There is no problem with disappearing text.
