I replaced my 2012 Marathon install (64bit) with 2012.1 Beta 1 (64 bit)
There's very little else installed but I run up against this error after just a few minutes
The only thing that I seem able to do is to log out an back in again, but that gives me only a few minutes before it happens again, so I end up having to restart every 15 minutes or so."max number of clients reached" and X refuses to display any more.
According to ksysguard
I only have 180 processes running (typically)
and I''m not sure what is causing it:
I've checked :
Google Chrome,
Firefox,
Akonadi,
epomuk etc.
Tried stopping or disabling them all (where possible, obviously Akonadi just restarts.. -- god i hate that!) and none of those seem to be the cause
I've tried adding a bash startup to startx
so that suns with "tcp nolisten " as several other postings I read elsewhere had success with that.. but it's made no difference.
I'm running regular 3.6.6 Rosa Kernel.. although I did experiment with the nrj and rt kwith others just in case.(although I only have a 2Gb ram netbook I thought it was worth trying at least, it didn't change anything though)
I;ve even tried changing from Intel Grahics driver to generic Vesa, and tried running with xrender and openGL but that makes no difference either.
Not sure what else to try. Has anyone else had the same problem?
I have 2012.1 (32bit) running fine on my Acer Atom Netbook, - so not sure why this 64 bit version should be different.
Any suggestions or help would be most welcome.
Thanks
p.s. I like Rosa Anyway, but really liking 2012.1 (apart from this bug that is!)
