usb modem not work with knetworkmanager plasma applet

I've updated from Mandriva 2011.0 to ROSA and now I can't connect with my usb modem using knetworkmanager plasma.
It detects my usb modem but never connects, i introduce my PIN but never save it.

Some workaround - try install networkmanager-applet, run it (like nm-applet) and try setup with it. If work, you will may replace for it.

In the NW in the connection properties include the PAP / CHAP / ... authentication. This option is disabled by default.

What kind (model/name) of modem you're using?
Did it work in 2011? If so, did you set it up from MCC or from NM in 2011?

Do you problem is not save PIN? Then reboot in Windows and in the program attached to your ISP, disable PIN code request.
Or in property your Mobile connections, the first tab on the contrary Mobile PIN from the drop down list, set the "Keep".

My usb-modem is K4505. Actually i don't have windows.
In mdv 2011.0 it worked ok from knetworkmanager-applet, and with kernel 3.1.6 mib it worked ok.
It seems now it saved my PIN correctly but it follows not connected. It is very strange
I'm using modemmanager 0..5..2 version.
Actually, my usb-modem only works with Sakis3G application.

I am new here and don't have my Rosa iso yet to try it, but I too have a usb dialup modem, so I will be following this bug. I often have problem where I can connect ok, but can't ping, that /etc/resolv.conf is empty after a connection is made when it should list nameservers.

Dialup modem - it's not 3G modem. This is different modems and different ways to connect. With dialup modem you need to use only KPPP. Typically, the first modem initialization string ATZ, second line ATQ0V1E1S0=0&C1&D2. Initialization string to dial: ATDP9999999999 or ATDT99999999999, where "99999999999" numer modem pull from your ISP and "P" - pulse dial, "T" - tone dial.

well, i've updated kernel to 3.2.18-nrj-netbook-1rosa.lts from MIB and all works good, 3.2.16 version fails about this theme.

I was having the same problem too.But then I installed nm-applet and everything seems to work fine with my 3g modem.I would like to replace the plasma network management applet with this one.Which packages should I remove?Please help.
