I tried the live session of Rosa 2012, but my wifi is not detected. No problem with Ubuntu. How do I add additional drivers with Rosa.
Thank you
Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n
Re: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n
1) There are no dkms included in live-mode in ROSA
2) you have to install ROSA into hard rdive and look for the drivers here (the package name is dkms-broadcom-wl):
Proprietary driver for Broadcom wireless adapters (broadcom-wl) by Eugene Shatokhin, ROSA Laboratory.

The up-to-date version of dkms-broadcom-wl package is now available in the official repositories for ROSA Desktop.Fresh 2012 (the repositories for "non-free" software).

Re: Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n
How would someone set up the non-free repos in ROSA? I am a complete newbie to Mandriva or any of it's derivitives but have extensive experience in debian and Red Hat based distros. I am considering changing to ROSA because of some issues I am experiencing with my distro of choice lately and I need to be sure I can set up my Broadcom BCM4311.
Any help will be appreciated, Thank you all in advance!

If you install our latest release, ROSA Desktop Fresh R1, the non-free repositories should be enabled by default, no additional setup should be needed here.
I assume, you have a wired network connection. So, after you install the OS as well as the updates, reboot and install 'b43-firmware-install' package, then reboot again. WiFi should work now.
As you have Broadcom BCM4311, do not install dkms-broadcom-wl that I mentioned earlier. The driver has bugs that show up on the systems with BCM4311, I have just reported them to Broadcom support. On the systems with BCM4313 and BCM4322, broadcom-wl driver seems to work OK.
For your system, 'b43-firmware-install' should do all the work.

Roger, Willco and out!
Yup that sounds like it's the way to go, I'm still waiting for the download to finish, but was a little apprehensive since I haven't ever worked in Mandriva (or ROSA), thank you very much, this kind of makes my day!
