Hi everyone just wanted to introduce myself. Installed rosa today with out any problems at all. Its nice when a distro works out of the box.

At present there are two relative new directions between Mandriva continuers: ROSA and Mageia.

For me ROSA 2012 is more innovative than Mageia 2.
ROSA is bringing new applications under its mark.
But Mageia 2 seems to me like Mandriva 2010 with KDE 4.8 and Mageia wallpaper. That's all new on it. Maybe this is their intention.

Hello, and greetings from Arkansas. So far, I am much impressed with Rosa on my system and appreciate the work put into this operating system.
In the past I have tried Knoppix, Simply Mepis, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Mint KDE, Fedora, Open Suse, Hymera, and MoonOS, and my main distro has been Pardus. I was looking for a distro with long term support with KDE desktop and that is how I found Rosa. I have never tried Mandriva. The install for Marathon EE x86_64 went well on my system:
Asus A8NE mb, AMD Athlon 64 FX-57, nvidia geforce 8500 gtvideo , oxygen cmi8788 audio, and multitechzba_usb external 56k modem, with Rosa on second hard drive (no RAID)

Hello to all and greetings from California, USA. I had been looking for an .rpm distro that worked well on my hardware but with Long Term Support and the latest KDE. Searching through distrowatch.com and some reviews on YouTube, I came upon ROSA and decided to give it a go on my Toshiba Portege R705-P35 laptop, installing it as the only OS on my laptop's 64gb SSD. I must say that I am very impressed with distro, as 99% of everything worked out of the box (the only thing that didn't work but had an easy fix was ROSA Media Player). For it being a KDE distro, it runs extremely well on my laptop and I must say that the power control is outstanding. The fan stays ultra-quiet, which leaves me even more impressed as the only DEs that have kept my fan running at constant low-speed are LXDE, MATE, and Openbox. I truly must applaud the devs of ROSA for this fantastic distro.
