Grub2 stopped loading after bios update.

I rebooted to update the
bios of my motherboard(1.8 to 1.10) and after the update, grub2 stopped loading(only black screen with blinking cursor). I booted a recovery usb and chrooted to re-install grub2. The install gave an error so I ended up forcing it and that solved the problem but there must be a proper way to fix this if it happens again. As I can still reproduce the error I leave below a screen shot with the partition info and grub2-install error message.

It looks like your system was installed in UEFI mode, and for restoring you booted into Legacy BIOS mode, where Grub would try to install legacy bootloader (and fail, because GPT disks do not contain reserved space for it).
You need to boot in UEFI mode to correctly restore the bootloader.
P.S. Unfortunately, I cannot tell what caused grub2 malfunction in the first place. Maybe, updating bios deleted all EFI boot records, so the Grub2 is still there, but BIOS does not try to boot it.
