Hi, does anyone have the cups PDF printer working in R4?

After creating connection pdf:/home/me (from /usr/lib/cups/backend/pdf) and selecting the Generic PDF queue I could not get any output from the printer. It simply goes into pause, and may throw up an diagnostic screen which does not offer any help. The print job stays in the queue.

Further to my post I found Cups-pdf in the "rosa2014.1/" Repository and install this.

Cups-pdf "Virtual Printer" showed as a printer available for installation in the cups Admin page and I was able to install it. When attempting to print a test page it failed with an error.
....so no luck thus far.

Further to my post - some progress. The Cups-pdf printer from the R4 repository is now working. I found it necessary to restart the computer when making changes in cups. It was after a restart that Cups-pdf started working. Restarting the cups server did not work. Also restarting the network did not work. Making changes to the printer queue caused cups to hang. So restarting the PC a dozen times was necessary but now I have the desired results. You may also try searching and killing the cups pid. But restarting worked for me.

No success yet with the inbuilt cups pdf printer -- found in usr/lib/cups/backend/pdf*. This filter appears in cups as pdf writer but does not work at all.
