Hi, Flash works fine in all distros like Mint, Ubuntu, Suse with hw acceleration but not in Rosa. I suspect maybe it's nrj kernel, so I tried installing kernel-desktop-latest (without nrj in the name) but it wouldn't install because it has the nrj meta-packages as dependency. So I can't even install a regular kernel. Why? Please help. I think it's not good to break Flash. All popular video sites use Flash.

Why you think about kernel? nrj kernel is a regular kernel - you may try another flovour, not desktop, like laptop and see what happen.

But i think common problem with setup - you may set hardware acceleration is Flash setup window?
And what browser you use? In Chromium may be problem with hardware acceletration in latest version (simple see about:gpu page). But if you install and run Chrome problem will may disappear.

Also see options for Hardware acceleration in Chromium/Chrome options - via version 26/27 that option (HA) moving from flash to Chrome setup (see Advances tab in the end of it).

Another problem - you need proprietary drivers or intel drivers for use HA.

For addition - information from Khronos site (WebGL and all other HA in Chrome):

WebGL is enabled on ATI/AMD GPUs with proprietary AMD drivers 8.98 or newer.
WebGL is enabled on certain Intel GPUs with recent Mesa drivers.
Multisampling is disabled on Intel IvyBridge cards.
WebGL is enabled on NVIDIA GPUs with proprietary NVIDIA drivers newer than 295.
WebGL is always disabled on NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500.
WebGL is disabled on the dynamically switching NVIDIA+Intel GPUs.

Since Chrome/Chromium 26/27 this part related to all HA, not only WebGL.

Hi, I too had a similar problem.

how to fix it

1 # install - "flash-plugin-11.1.102.55-release.i386.rpm".

2 # replace the file " libflashplayer.so " - ( usr/lib/mozilla/plugings ).

Note - this issue may affect some computers ( in other words _ it depends on the components in your computer ).
