Install gnome shell, how?

I would like to install Gnome Shell in ROSA 2012 marathon Gnome edition. Is this possible?
ROSA 2012 marathon Gnome edition comes with GNOME2, but "GNOME Shell is the core user interface of the GNOME desktop environment starting with version 3", as wikipedia says, it is not compatible with GNOME2, I'm afraid.
There is unsupported package in contrib updates, though
