GnuCash failure [SOLVED]

Installed gnucash, saw messsage about something needing to be compiled (never seen before). Clicked OK to compile. Nothing happened. Closed the dialog box. Tried to start gnucash, saw banner, which disappeared quickly. Nothing more happened. Any ideas?

I'm very impressed with 2012.1, but this is a problem.

I'm very impressed with 2012.1, but this is a problem.

I guess gnucash package should be fixed in repositories. Re-compiled with another version of guile. Wait few days please.

I see new updates including guile and gnucash, but dependency issues are numerous, so many of the updates fail, including those for GnuCash. I thought it might be a problem with syncing the repository, but after waiting overnight, the issues remain. Tried switching to wget from aria2, but it did not help.

Yes there were some minor issues on ABF, which are fixed now, but the error will remain on the mirrors for some time. Please wait a little
