After everything was working OK, disabling the typographic characters, I rechecked my /home/user/.config/kxkbrc file. There was a new line in it:

That was the problem. I have never met this setting before, and never met it activated by default on any distro. It makes big troubles for keyboard layouts and languages which has to use the third and fourth keyboard levels.

It is a unique setting and specific only for Rosa Plasma. It is the same on all updated Plasma isos - Rosa 13.1 Plasma 5 & 6 and Rosa 2021.1 Plasma 5.

If I disable cups, the printing window appears instantly. So it might have something to do how plasma/qt accessing cups in Rosa, that is why the long delay.

Often it resumes at 100% brightness. So no matter if that file is there or not or what it writes. The file is working, because the rm command runs OK.

It is not only masterpdfeditor. Problem is also when printing from gwenview and okular too. No problem from libreoffice, gimp, inkscape, firefox.

Please, nobody has any idea what can be the problem? It is annoying.
Might be some qt setting somewhere in Rosa which causes this delay? It is happening for me on Rosa, testing other distros there is no such problem.

On my plasma6 system if I try to put it into the sleep mode from the menu, I cannot. Clicking on the command just blinks a black screen and turns back the working desktop. If I close the lid of the laptop, it works (as stated in my settings), it will go to sleep mode without a problem.
